Trapet Pere et Fils, Latricieres Chambertin Vintage:2022Bigger and richer than the Chapelle if not quite as intense or fine with beautifully complex, almost lush aromas of red fruits and traces of both earth and game followed by fine, precise flavors and wonderful length. This is sweet and complete, indeed seamless and comes across as more compact yet also more powerful. I prefer this in that it delivers pure power without weight with that lovely velvety quality on the finish.

wild fungi and crushed rocks plus a waft of powdered cinnamon

finishing very long

backward and brooding nose reluctantly gives up hints of very earthy dark pinot fruit nuanced by a distinct animale hint that merges into broad-shouldered flavors that offer excellent volume and concentration that finishes with just a hint of dryness and plenty of minerality

it's that good

The finer middle weight flavors aren’t as powerful though I like the vibrancy on the dusty

with perfectly integrated acidity and a floral element giving clarity and lift to the red fruit
