Description
Elevated Structure, by August Mosca, Amer., (1905-2003) SoftgroundLithograph, 1977, Ed. 20 50, 10 7 8 x 13 5 8, signed, titled and numbered in pencil, on warm white wove Rives BFK paper 17 x 20 7 16. Meticulously printed by George Miller, these urban subway lithographs by Mosca remain true to his early vision of the city. Mosca's dynamic, patterned compositions celebrate the structure of modern transit but steep their precisionist symmetry in a luminous atmosphere.
Zimmerman taught the two to draw exclusively from memory and imagination
both prints echo the machine age aesthetic of the time
and a member of the Vienna Secession
It is uncommon to find a pencil signed impression of this beautiful print by Farrer
probably 57 plus AP's
Otis was a highly talented commercial and fine artist
I've confirmed this from photographs and am much relieved to resolve any confusion regarding the subject and proper title of this Balthazar etching
and I hope it will allow a new collector to enjoy it now
Meticulously printed by George Miller
and subtly challenge staid conventions
