"Crucifixion" by Ferdinand Staeger, German, (1885-1976) Pastel illustrator and etcherEtching, ca. 1930's, ed. unknown, 13 x 9 1 2, signed & numbered in pencil, below an etched remarque of flying birds, on thin cream laid japan paper. Trace of glue residue along top margin edge, & some cockling to upper left corner, small soft diagonal crease to lower left corner. A forcefully composed & contemplative work, delicately etched with incredible detail.
