The 58 Archive (formerly “Reserve”) SBPAF set was originally inspired by my time spent with friend and Guitarist Magazine contributor Bob Wootton’s own

While this is far from an easy task to pin down and of course the pickups loaded into those historic guitars varied a fair amount

From the first hot-rodded s-types that inspired the plethora of custom designed “super-strats” that were an 80s hard rock mainstay

These look absolutely fantastic and are available in anything from shiny-new to heavily aged

tension etc all taken from unwinding original pickups produced during the golden era

Indeed, it is often argued that while Gibson got the required paperwork in order before Butts, it was actually the Filtertron that takes the mantel as the first production Humbucking guitar pickup.
