The rig itself attaches to the sidewalk and does not require that  stakes or anchoring devices be driven into the property owners soil next to the sidewalk

NOTE: This part is rarely used but in the case of pockets of gravel or roots pushing back into the hole

1-1/2" PVC Push Point Compression Points The angle of penetration canThis part is used to insert a 1 1 2" PVC Sch 40 pipe into the ground after the initial hole is opened with the compression point. It is threaded into the end of a 2 sch 40 PVC pipe or conduit. As it is screwed into the pipe it cuts its own threads on the inside of the pipe much like a tap. The outside diameter of the push point will be the same as the outside diameter of the pipe itself. Next this pipe point assembly is shoved into the same opening
