Charles and Ray Eames designed the original Compact Sofa as a built in for their Pacific Palisades home in the 1940s. They loved the sofa so much that they decided to create a freestanding version. It was first produced in 1954 and has been in production ever since! The design is light and airy. The scale of the sofa is perfect for a tight space but it seats three people comfortably.
