Malgarr Wall Shield- Australian Red Cedar - Womindjeka - Mick Harding cosmetic Size: 13cm x 19cm -Malgarr (shield) with Womindjeka (welcome) design. Traditionally, Malgarr were used with Liyangayil (fighting clubs) for hand to hand combat with enemies. Mick Harding has replicated the shape of these shields in his artwork. Womindjeka means "Welcome". In a welcoming ceremony, Djerrang U Wurrdhadindu (many gum leaves) are burnt in a Darnuk (wooden bowl).
